Introduction

In addition to the full 24 parameter volumetric compensation of the CMM, it is possible to apply Scale Factores to correct some residual linear error.

Procedure

The factors shall be add to a figuration file as follow:

  1. Open the Folder ..\Data with Windows Explorer
  2. Open the File Machine.ini
  3. If not present, add in the bottom of the file the following lines:
[SFACTORS]
SFX1=1
SFY1=1
SFZ1=1
SFX2=1
SFY2=1
SFZ2=1
  1. Type, for each axis and for arm, the scale correction to be applied
  2. Press File -> Save
  3. Press File -> Exit

Usage Warning

THE CORRECTION OF THE LINEAR ERRORS WITH SCALE FACTOR IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED AND IT IS PREFERABLE TO USE A FULL ERROR MAPPING.

Scale Factor Calculation

Scale factor= nominal length of the gauge / measured length of the block
